Millenials..

Recommended Posts

Not just millennial's....A whole lot of people / Americans....We get so used to the conveniences modern technology brings us that we forget how we got here and how we got this smart... Those guys who shoot traditional bows... Hats off to you guys because that's early man type stuff. Just stick and strings.

The Mans Man sadly is a dying breed! Those men who can shoot a gun, chop wood, start a fire, gut a fish, back up a trailer are washing up and being targeted as Barbarians and hurting their safe space. If you cant gut a fish or back up your trailer shave your beard!

I was sheep hunting with a friend in December. We were glassing the SW corner of Picketpost Mountain. A herd of about 8 of these creatures passed within 15 feet of on on the hiking trail and never saw us. They were yapping to each other about how they were truly in the middle of nowhere. A little over a mile from their cars and less than 2 miles from US 60. We thought it would be fun to set up a lemonade stand for them on their way back.

Less than a third have caught a fish and almost half have never been camping... Unreal. First thing that comes to my mind is "WTF do these people live for?"

I help with the boy scouts in our community, and while I'm not a huge fan of the organization, I feel it gives these kids some exposure to important things. These are 12 and 13 year olds and they can't tie on a swivel or hook or make their own fire and tinfoil dinners. The group we have right now either don't have a dad at home or their dads don't seem to spend much time with them and show them the finer things in life. I feel tremendously blessed that I had a dad who took me on fishing and hunting trips when I was a kid. I think if there were more dads out there like mine and you guys, we wouldn't have near the problems we see with youth today.

I too feel lucky to have had a dad around every day. Boys need to have someone tell them to stop crying and walk it off.

I think there is hope for the next generation. I went shooting by myself last weekend. I don't know what the area is called, but it's at the end of the Bush Highway north of the Bee Line. I did my shooting and then spent some time exploring the country. All kinds of people were out. No one was really rude, but I would say they could learn some manners. The kids, 9 - 12 year olds, that were riding their machines were nicer than the people in their 20s 30s & 40s. After that, it was the older, 50+, that were nice. The kids and older people would do things like get out of the way quicker than the others when riding on the roads and approaching vehicles. Also they would do things like smile and wave.
