22N Elk Dates Changed

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know why they changed the elk season's dates back a week in 22N after 26 years? It definitely could affect the late archery and rifle hunts weather wise. :)

The early rifle and Muzzleloader hunts are before archery this year, count nsistemt with the departments practice for the last 3 years of rotating early firearms before archery in one unit each year.

This subsequently pushes the archery hunt back one week.

The late hunts are different. They are the same time as all the other late hunts, which are later in the year due to the calendar year starting on a Sunday versus last year starting on a Friday.

For example, the late rifle hunts begin I believe on the 45th Friday (or something like that) of the year and this year because the year began on Sunday the dates are 6 days later in the year than last year.

Hope this helps.
