Browning LR rifle

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the X Bolt Stalker LR 26". Thanks for all the replies.

We seem to have hijacked your post and turned it into the muzzle brake pissing match. As the most guilty party I apologize. We should be talking about the rifle you are interested in.

On the Browning site the Stalker LR is listed under Limited Availability, it is not a standard production model. It could be real hard to find one on the shelf you can look at. The action is glass bedded to the stock, the barrel is free floated and it is hand chambered, all good qualities. If I were looking to purchase one I would be interested to see what the adjustable trigger felt like. Remington tried one and I will politely say it was less than impressive. You might be able to find the same trigger in another model on someone's shelf to see how it feels. I would also be interested in finding out if the stock was from an aftermarket manufacturer and if so which one. If you decide you really want the gun but can't find one around town look on Gun Broker. There are a number of large dealers on there who may have one. You would have to arrange for an FFL to receive it on this end. I have bought guns that way and even with shipping and FFL fees paid less than I would have at a local dealer.

Thank you for that I really appreciate it. I have a line one one and think I'll do it. Thanks again.

Let us know how it works out. I tried to get a limited production remington once but got skunked. The fact that I wanted a LH model didn't help. I have only owned 1 browning. It was a nice rifle but I chose to sell it to fund customizing a remington.

I have handled the new browning LR rifles (heck's Canyon edition) and was impressed. nearly bought one but they didn't offer it in the barrel length and caliber i wanted. i did a lot of research on them and they are reportedly extremely accurate, lightweight rifles. really a lot of bang for the buck. the GoHunt guys are shooting them exclusively now (not that that matters, but guys that can afford any rifle that are shooting these should be good for something). they run around 7lbs, fluted barrel, muzzle break and cerakote for around $1100.

I found it on Bear Mountains site. They showed two for sale. 25% down and I'll pick it up when they call usually in 2-3 days.

I'm thinking about purchasing one of these rifles stock new and wondering what makes them "long range". Is it only the 26" barrel or is there anything else? Thx.

I stopped by a gun shop I have never been to, Bear Mountain in Mesa. They had the Browning X Bolt Hells Canyon Long Range Hunter in stock in 26 Nosler. It was a nice looking rifle. Cerakoted with a McMillan stock from the factory. 26 Nosler would be a great caliber for this rifle.

Yes I bought the Browning Stalker LR in 6.5 Creedmore at their shop. I saw the Hells Canyon rifle there. Nice gun. Great service.
