Guest oneshot Report post Posted January 15, 2017 in the middle of nowhere while Mulie hunting in the rain and saw this half buried in the ground, knew what it was before I picked it up... I havent cleaned it off or checked on how old it is, but seems to be well made, NOT US Cav...

Edge Report post Posted January 15, 2017 Pretty aggressive rawl, ouch. Looks Spanish. Another great find my friend. About 40 years ago I was removing tumble weeds from a barbed wire fence line on a remote ranch in NM. Found a brass spur with the name REX brazed into the side. Bet both the pokes that lost theses spurs were royally pissed

CatfishKev Report post Posted January 16, 2017 Well I guess I'll be the nerd and ask what the heck it is? My best guess was part of a spur on a boot? But I'm pretty sure thats wrong...
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted January 16, 2017 Spur is made in the old Spanish form, two-piece construction, scalloped heel band, chap guard on shank, 7 rowels, left side... Not going to clean it up, leaving it in "relic" condition... Can you post some pics of what the original would have looked like? I assume you already found some through google.
