EZ Ranch Cordes Junction, Az

Recommended Posts

GRONG:

What did the hogs look like? Were the domestic pink Wilbur-types or did they have any Russian characteristics?

The hogs looked like ones you'd see at an FHA convention, then there were ones that were black and odd looking. I'm guessing those were the Russian ones but I'm not a connessieur of piggin.

Ya that fence was no joke either!! That is a big dude!!! Not sure if or how they would escape that bad-boy.

The EZ ranch is not the one that Kent Henry had the Arizona Hunt Club on. EZ is east of cordes Junction on the Agua Fria River in unit 21. Az Hunt club was north of cordes in 19B. EZ has had red deer, fallow deer and buffalo for at least the last 20 years. If the animals get loose, they would be trespassing on state or BLM land(Agua Fria National Monument) and the owner could be subject to losing his grazing leases and monetary penalities.

Aha, OK. The only reason I thought it was one in the same was because the lake and all the cottonwood trees looked like those on Henry's place. So it sounds like the EZ Ranch is somewhere in the area of the ? in the below map but farther south toward Cordes Junction, huh? -TONY

I had to leave two messages & wait 3 or 4 days, but finally got someone from the ranch to call me back & give me some info. Apparently the wild-hogs are on a 320 acre piece of land & there's about a hundred of them in there. They won't let you go on your own, you have to have a ranch employee "escort" you & the price is $350 for a hog up to 300 lbs. & I think it was $500 for anything bigger than that. You also have to pay a $100/day escort fee for your babysitter while you're on the ranch.

320 acres w/ a ranch employee holding your hand sounds an awful lot like a canned hunt to me. They won't be getting my business.

Looks like something I could have used this year in 11m.... :P Especially since I was flinging arrows at elk in an industrial area...to remain unnamed...along their fence line.

And I have a strange feeling that some of those hogs have already escaped from that ranch.... call it a gut feeling. B)

Looks like you can safe a few hundo and smoke em up for FREE.

Looks like Two Guns might want to contemplate all meanings of the word "Silent As A Grave".... since it would appear that "Loose Lips Sink Ships".... <_<

Just let me know where they're at, I'd be happy to... uhmm... put them back in their pen, you know, so they don't bother other hunters.

I am sure that I am not the only one that knows of these pigs, but you can be sure that I will not be giving any maritime coordinates for this ship. ;)

Darren, Littlebear and I went in there after Denny got those pics and poked around a little. We saw some sign of them but no sightings. Haven't been back since.

Josh, it dont surprise me that you saw no sign there....I have been there a few times and not ever seen any sign. At least I don't think I did. My wife's aunt and her husband run the ranch up there and I will have to ask Gary next time I talk to him if he ever sees them in the area. Too bad you didnt find em though, I would sure like to get a look at em as well.

Darren
