AZ_SAWBUCK Report post Posted January 3, 2017 (edited) Day one of 2017 was a good way to kick off the year! Didn't take long after wandering around in the rain for Matt to locate a group of piggy's. He was fortunate enough to tag one, which was his first kill with a bow and his first Javelina! Pigs scattered and we got the call and the location to where they were. It didn't take long to find the stragglers hanging around and make the moves on them. Pigs running and arrows flying.......would have thought it was a scene form The Patriot. Pat smoked his while Ralf and I had a few close calls. Fast-forward about an hour and a half while getting ready to hike out with the two pigs..... I find a lone subject traversing the desert hill side and moved in for the kill. Arrow connected but the shot wasn't perfect. Things got a little western and we ended up pushing the Pig into a cave. Pig was about 6' back in the hole, a follow up shot and my smallest pig to date was down! .......... Adventurous 8 year old Hunter was the only one small enough to fit into the hole so he crawled in and pulled it out. Was glad that my son Cooper and Pats son Hunter were able to be there and witness their first action packed archery Javelina Hunt! Good Luck to everyone this January!
