TwoGuns Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Man, we had a great night last night. We had two elk down in a matter of 20 minutes, including a great bull. We first hit the bull at 9am, but not a great shot, so we found him again at 6pm laying down trying to hide from us by laying real still with his head down. We were able to sneak up on him to 20 yards and put another arrow in him. He tore off down the hill about 100 yards and down he went. As soon as we all gathered up around the bull, my buddy and I took off to try and find one of the bull's cows. We didnt have to go more than 400 yards and there they were. We were able to sneak up on two cows and got three shots in about 10 minutes. First shot was high, second shot was good at 55 yrds, third shot was good at 65 yards, and 100 yards later she was down. Anyway, it was a blast, and here are a couple pics. The bull also had a broken arrow in his neck from last week's hunt. One tough dude.

TwoGuns Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Yeah, I have had a great month of archery hunting that is for sure. I found out today, that the Fish and Game police were at my buddies house when he got home from work last night. Apparently, somebody complained about us killing two elk 200 yards behind his house. So they checked the tags and names and made sure we were on the up and up. I guess the guy was good about it, just said they had to check any complaints. That is definetly a risk of hunting in 11m. In fact, we could hear people walking about 200 yards away from us as I shot my cow.... I am wondering if anyone else shoots Shuttle T-Lock broadheads??? I just bought some for this years hunt and am really impressed. I shot my cow twice, with both shots at over 50 yards passing through. The second shot broke a rib on its way in...made an unbelievably loud 'whack' when it hit...and then broke a rib on its way out and was on the ground 20 yards behind the elk when I found it. Pretty impressive to me.
