How much effort would you put forth to help someone like this?

Yep drink a beer, Yank his chain a bit , and pull him out.... We have ALL been there at one point in our lives.

You gotta check what kind of beer they have first. ;)

judging by the picture I don't think they drink beer, and I'm not a wine type of guy ... They prolly have some good blow too, but I gave that up many moons ago. But I would still help them.. It makes for good talk around the camp fire with real outdoorsman :)

yea, sometimes I just like to drink my own beer and see what they can muck up next.

So true my friend .... So true .. Cheers

There is a tab that pops off the bumper and it accesses a mount point for a tow loop that threads into it. Apparently he never read the manual. I used to have a BMW and the loop was in the trunk next to the spare tire. It would have been easy to tow.

He didn't have the threaded hook. The first thing I asked ...

My oldest son will pull anyone out of any situation. He's seen what it's like to be on both sides and not every lesson I've tried to teach has stuck, but this one sure has. He actually got a card in the mail last week from someone he helped out in a bind.

For myself, I'll do whatever I can up to a point - I'm not going to trash my own vehicle pulling someone out (anymore - have done it in the past) but if I have have a chance to help someone in a bind, I find it's best to do what you can for them.

What is that dashcam you are using?

It's a Vantrue R2. It was about 100 on sale at Amazon, I added the GPS option which was about 20 and use a hardwired kit. It works pretty well, even at night.

Here is some footage of the awesome roundabouts at Happy Valley and 17.

City boy stuck

Great Earl Dibbles Jr quote

I would have definitely help him out to a certain point. But sometimes if their not doing anything to help them selves out, then there's nothing you can do.

First few years of those roundabouts I saw pile ups upwards of 10 cars at a time.

I hate those friggin roundabouts. People are not smart enough to stop when there is a RED LIGHT, how are they supposed to use JUDGMENT???? lol

That's a cool camera setup. Do you use it enough to validate the cost?

As for bmw dude, I would have gladly offered to call someone for him.....

If you are able to help get the them out of a jam by all means give him-her a hand. You are out in the boonies. Myself I would not drive by anyone in that kind of situation and not ask if they are in need of some help.

It is the right thing to do.

If you are told they have it under control so be it--move along.

I'd probably help him by giving him some advice...buy a real 4x4.

Not surprised there was little gratitude ... he probably thought you "owed it" to him. Good on you for trying. What a jerk.

Like most others have said on here, I would definitely do what I could to help the guy. Whether the person in need shows their appreciation or not is not important to me. I really don't care about that. I just like having a little extra karma in my back pocket for the future. :D

I've done some stupid stuff from time to time in my life, and I'm sure someone judged me as such (stupid, dip-what ever....). Always appreciated the help though.

Good on you for helping the guy out!
