billrquimby Report post Posted December 28, 2016 I hate to part with it, but I'm too old to use this gear again. I cannot tell you how many sailfish, dorado, tuna, and other off-shore fish I took with these rigs off both sides of the Sea of Cortez in the 1980s and early 1990s. Everything is still in good condition, but buyer may want to replace the line. I'm selling it as a package at $80 for all: 1. Penn Senator 4-O reel with rod to match. (This was my sailfish, roosterfish and dorado rig.) 2. Penn Senator 6-O reel with heavy rod to match. (This was my marlin and grouper rig.) 3 A no-name antique (but still useable) pier reel with rod to match. This was my bottom-fishing rig for snappers, triggerfish, etc. 4. Leather fighting belt with butt socket. Bill Quimby
CatfishKev Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Wow that sounds like heck of a deal. I know nothing about salt gear but I've heard of Penn reels and that they're good. Even had a buddy said he had his rebuilt.

PRDATR Report post Posted December 29, 2016 Solid gear. Lots of parts still available for them and upgrades like carbon fiber drags and boca bearings, lightweight spools.
billrquimby Report post Posted December 31, 2016 Don't know why my second post isn't in this thread. The reels and rods were sold within two hours of my first posting. Thanks, everyone, for your PMs and interest. Bill Quimby
