rossislider Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Like the title asks, I'd like to know what your opinions are on the best "non-steak house" restaurant in the valley, particularly in the eastern or central areas of the valley. I know lots of great steak places, but am looking for something different to take my wife too. Thoughts? Thanks
lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Not fancy, but great food. Baby Kay's Cajun Kitchen. The cocktail sauce will light up your sinuses. Not east side, but Papadeaux's is awesome too. My wife's favorite.
stanley Report post Posted December 28, 2016 A couple of favorites from my neighborhood in Central Phx: Richardson's on 16th, North of Bethany. Hillstone at about 28th Street and Camelback. Neither one has ever disappointed me. Bon apetite! S.

W.O.T Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Give St. Francis a try! Its on Camelback & 7th St... neat place and Aaron is on top of his game. His place was on DDD w/Guy Fierri too. Kinda partial, he's an extended family

Hoss50 Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Angry Crab. Trifecta mild for sissies, ramp it up if you like it hotter. It isn't fancy, but it is good seafood so it isn't cheap.

lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Love to start with a grilled shrimp Caesar salad and then Pasta Mardi Gras. Wash it down with a great Arnold Palmer too.
eagle#eyes Report post Posted December 28, 2016 I think it is seasonal but the Chilean Sea Bass was good. My cousin and Uncle refuse to go there and not get the shrimp cocktail. I'm not sure I've had anything there I didn't like to be honest
AZbowhntr Report post Posted December 28, 2016 I had my company Christmas dinner at Rodizio Grill last week and left there stuffed. It is the Brazilian style restaurant where they bring you all the meats on a spit and carve off what you want. And the best thing is it is only $29 per person. I am pretty sure that they just opened not long ago. Excellent food and service. Someone else mentioned the Angry Crab. Really liked that too.
ready2hunt Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Papadeaux's is legit dining. I would only go there if I am on that side of town but the food is great.

Hoss50 Report post Posted December 28, 2016 The Ocotillo in central phoenix was pretty darn good for our corporate gathering. The pork belly skewers are literally one of the best things in have eaten, and if you know me, I like to eat. Harley
