Anderson_HOTD69 Report post Posted December 22, 2016 Wrapped up the year with an amazing time with some amazing people. Saw this buck the second day of the hunt and decided to pass on him at that time to see what else I could find. Was seeing some does and smaller bucks. Second weekend of the hunt we glassed him up about 50 yards from where we saw him the first time, got about 621 yards from him and took the shot. Buck stumbled about 5 feet before falling. I have to take the time to thank the people that made this hunt possible for me. Without them I wouldn't have been able to go. Thank you Aaron P. for letting us borrow your rifle and for telling me how many clicks to spin the scope, that was a rush, I felt like a million bucks doing that myself. Your gun is dead on buddy!! Todd P. Thank you for letting us borrow binos, rangefinders, tripods, offering snacks, and being a good friend to us. Aaron D. and Lindsey, thank you guys for helping us look for bucks both weekends, you guys are a heck of a glassing team! I don't know how Aaron can stand for so long, his eyes NEVER leave those binos and he can spot those deer like his life depends on it. Aaron is also a great roadside chef! Thank you for having the patience in helping me learn to gutt and cut up a coues buck! Last but not least to my best friend, you are a trooper Chadlie. You threw that meat and hide in your pack and took off and made every mule in AZ look like crap. Never have I had more fun freezing, getting cut and scratched by every plant in AZ, or going all day without anything to eat knowing we were having a blast. No one else I would rather have seen me take this buck then you two. We have had some adventures man, that is for sure. You finally got to see me kill something, and I can't wait to watch you kill one now!!! Here's some pix from the hunt. We dubbed this buck Mr. Crabs.
Anderson_HOTD69 Report post Posted January 3, 2017 Got Mr. Crabs back from the shop. Wanted to do something a little different with him. I wanted to get his bottom jaw done also. May not be some peoples first choice but I kind of like it. I am planning on either gluing the bottom jaw and putting him on a hook, setting him up on a plaque, or displaying his bottom jaw on the tv stand I have with some other mounts of mine. Thanks for looking.
