lancetkenyon Report post Posted December 22, 2016 I love mine. They can fit a big bull rear quarters in the main compartment. Can carry 100+ pounds as comfortably as 100# can be carried, a rifle and lots of gear, or half a muley. Worth the admission price.
Siwash Report post Posted December 22, 2016 If you are a member of RMEF sign up for their email list, I got a coupon code to their store and got it for about $40 cheaper than anywhere else online over the summer. This was the first season I hunted with it, used it on a successful Coues and Elk hunt. As Lance notes above it can be a good meat hauler, just make sure every thing else you haul can go in the top brain/side compartments ahead of time if you need to pack out meat. Learning curve for me on a new pack...I took the head of my bull and nothing else after I took a spike the last day of the Dec. 22N hunt a few weeks ago, mostly because I didn't feel comfortable loading up the main compartment with boned out meat and letting everything else more or less "hang out" while busting through manzy on a gnarly slope. I'm probably also guilty of packing way more than I need on day hunts. Ended up taking an extra trip with my pack frame but I was alright with that. I'm sure over time I will really enjoy the pack and already appreciate the rifle scabbard and shoulder/waist adjustments.
