creed Report post Posted December 14, 2016 My wife's son stripped out the mounting hole in her Kaibabs trying to keep the Vortex adapter tight. The factory adapter is worthless IMO. I had an extra Zeiss adapter but it is too wide to work not allowing the binos to fold in so she can see through them. I am going to buy a different adapter but was wanting to know what would work well. Any suggestions?
bigj23 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Outdoorsman. You will never have to take the stud out and they lock in.

PelaPapas Report post Posted December 14, 2016 I use the Vortex Uni-dapter. I like it and its super quick to get set up with my 15s. I've been looking into getting myself an outdoorsmans adapter next time I head up to the valley though.
jim Report post Posted December 14, 2016 The outdoorsman system is hard to beat. I can switch back in forth between my 50's and 56's quickly.
metau Report post Posted December 14, 2016 I went from the vortex to the outdoorsmans adapter this year. Don't think I would ever go back.
HUNTnTAT2 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 Outdoorsmans adaptor is hands down the best. I came from a vortex adaptor and will never go back to it. Well worth the money!
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Will the outdoorsman work on any bino? Can they drill and tap the zeiss that has no threaded hole?
HUNTnTAT2 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 I would call the outdoorsmans for the above question (mdarea33) they are top notch to deal with
rossislider Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Why don't you send it into Vortex for repair? Their faultless warranty is the best thing about Vortex. Get it fixed, then get an Outdoorsmans setup.
rossislider Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Will the outdoorsman work on any bino? Can they drill and tap the zeiss that has no threaded hole? They will work on just about any bino. Ones that don't have thread holes will usually get sent to their machinist to drill and mount. That is what they do with the Swaro EL line up. I had them do mine first thing after I got them. Just got her new ones back last week. I am not impressed with the adapter she has now. Think you guys have sold me on the Outdoorsman. Thanks to all for the input! 300RUM Report post Posted January 5, 2017 If you ever run into that problem on something you can't warranty there is a piece of hardware to repair it. A screw thread insert, often called a heli-coil. You Drill out the hole a little larger, Tap it then screw in a insert. Chose the insert set with a matching internal thread as the original ones. You have new threads. I have repaired all kinds if things with them. Sucks to scrap an expensive item over a stripped thread.
