FB67 Report post Posted December 10, 2016 LCazador can you expand on why Sightrons are in your opinion garbage ? I have one and seems like a decent scope was thinking of getting another one but is there something I am not seeing that makes them bad?
trphyhntr Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Sightron is garbage at any price right next to that brand that starts with a V and ends with an X. I hear the landfill is full of them, LOL! I don't understand spending good money on a custom gun and then even more on a hunting trip, only to have your optics fail when you need them most. If you can't afford a Leup or a Nightforce, save your money till you can. The V is between your legs.
rcdinaz Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Remember there are varying levels for each mfg. Vortex may have a lot of people down on them but they sell a $h!t ton of scopes in all price ranges and I have not seen anyone complain about the Razor which brings very high praises. I would still like to own a Razor at some point. Desert Bull pretty sure you would use and like a Leupold if it were a Mark 4 ER/T.

L Cazador Report post Posted December 11, 2016 LCazador can you expand on why Sightrons are in your opinion garbage ? I have one and seems like a decent scope was thinking of getting another one but is there something I am not seeing that makes them bad?Well after trying them all, Sightron has about the worst possible customer service and also the least longevity and Vortex isn't much better. I'm talking tracking and consistency of adjustments, you have to hit what you're shooting at. What good is a lifetime guarantee when the product fails at the worst possible moment, right in the middle of that hunt of a lifetime or right at moment you're about to shoot that perfect score in the match of your lifetime. Pay the price and cry only once!

I havent had to use customer service on the Sightron yet guess that s a good thing Its the SIII model but it was only $800 on sale but I guess I got screwed based on your experience. I have only shot maybe 400 rounds so far but its on a little 300 Win so not a huge round but if it was on a 338 or a 50 cal I am sure it would have fallen apart by now, so probably on round 500 it will fail. Then I will switch to the taticool Nightforce and it will never break and I can tell everyone how bitchen I am.

FB67 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Per the expert if you don't spend $3000 to $4000 on scope you would be better off throwing rocks

Ernesto C Report post Posted December 11, 2016 I have the SIII 8-32×56 lrmoa and I love it. The glass is extremely clear, the reticle is thin enough to not cover up the target. As I turn the magnification to the high end of the range the picture looses clarity, but to me that seems normal. I generally shoot it at 24x and it is much clearer there than my brothers vortex viper at 20x. I don't have that problem. Mine works perfect. but I have the Sightron SIII 6-24 x 50 LR FFP. Are you adjusting your side focus accordingly to target distance?

I guess everybody can buy or spend their money on what they want..I did!
