bmf1321 Report post Posted September 25, 2007 I have a Savage 1100 .270 and I was trying to mount a scope- Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40. My bases and rings are medium Weavers. The scope tube is too short and will not fit in the rings. The taper that goes to the objective lens sits where the tube should. Do they make bases that will accomidate the short tube on this scope or do I have to look for a scope with a longer tube? Thanks.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted September 25, 2007 Burris makes a two piece base with a reversible front that fits the Savage 110 both flat or round rear receivers. Try Midwayusa.com http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/brows...4356***14360***
Coach Report post Posted September 25, 2007 RR is right on the money as usual. I have 2 savages with this mounting setup, and it's the only one I've found that works.
John O Report post Posted September 25, 2007 I just got done setting up the exact same scenario for my son's .270. I ended up purchasing a set of offset rings, and it worked like a champ. If you do it this way, your base won't limit your access to the action. Just another idea.

Determine the needed position of the scope for proper eye relief, and see if you need the extended front or rear rings.
