cjl2010 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 Rokslide would be your best bet getting a higher end pack for a good price. Call kifaru and ask for Aron or frank and they will talk your ear off about different option to fit your needs
Heat Report post Posted November 30, 2016 If you are serious about hunting, a durable well fitting pack is a must. Can't even count how many "my Badlands broke in the field" posts I have read on hunting sites. I really like Kifaru like some of the other guys here. It was a tough pill to swallow with the price but their stuff is the highest quality. I also would rather pay a little more for goods made in the USA by Americans than save a little coin buying something from China or wherever. Kifaru has the suspension thing down!
n2horns Report post Posted November 30, 2016 Like any stated as in optics or guns, buy once cry once. I bought the EXO pack sight unseen and went of specs. I love it. You can carry meat between pack and back. Others are like it too. I think Stone Glacier makes a great pack, but you will pay good money and Rokslide has guys selling gear all the time. I feel comfortable to buy and sell there and have done both often. Not sure if EXO (Steve) or SG (Kurt) will send you a trial pack to play with, They have done that in the past, call and ask the companies for a sample and I would rather pay 50 bucks shipping than 600 on a pack and sell it later. Becker Report post Posted November 30, 2016 Man you can get a pretty nice Kelty for half the cost of the hunting packs. Plus shave off 4+ lbs. since you don't carry a lot until you kill. Been using one for a lot of years now. Built by backpackers not hunters. Do a little search and buy last years model and save big. My 2 cents.
elkhunter Report post Posted December 1, 2016 Becker- I've looked into Kelty and used to own one when I was a kid. Thats the route I'm taking if I can't get a good deal on an outdoorsman, like you said it was made by backpackers.
