Red Rabbit Report post Posted September 20, 2007 Always used just a Coleman lantern for the two night trackings I've done. Blood showed up well. Red and green light from this Primos light combine to give yellow, which the old gas lanterns gave off a yelllowish tint light. Heard that blue light is good for seeing blood at night. azhuntnut Report post Posted September 20, 2007 If you want a really kickass light for tracking blood, or any other animal or human fluids, then get one of the Streamlight twintask lights with the UV LEDS. I have had one for a couple years now and it really brings out any fluid very well. You can even use it to check for carpet stains or the bed in a hotel, and for scorpions. David And...you can also use it in a dark room to check your camo clothes. If they have a bluish glow, they have been contaminated by UV brighteners -- those things that "make the whites whiter and colors brighter." Basically, those UV LEDS are what has always been known as "black light" as often seen in some dance/night clubs. -TONY
