Hoss50 Report post Posted November 11, 2016 The buddy heaters are catalytic heaters that don't have CO2 issues. I would still keep a detector in the trailer in case it malfunctions but you shouldn't need it. It has an onboard "oxygen depletion sensor".
Tac Report post Posted November 12, 2016 No problems with buddy heaters but i would keep co2 sensors and propane sensors up to date they do expire.
Coach Report post Posted November 12, 2016 If you can park it where it's in the sun during the day that helps a bunch. Depending on how your water lines are configured underneath and inside you can do your best to insulate them. I like to keep cabinet doors that have exposed water lines open so the warm air inside the trailer gets in there. As others have said try to keep the cold air from coming under the trailer. Most importantly, if you do run any kind of heater inside have a good carbon monoxide tester (or two) for peace of mind.
Green Bullet Report post Posted November 12, 2016 Bro, with these temps you'll be fine. Even if it gets cold it's not a foregone conclusion you'll have problems.
HyNoon Report post Posted November 14, 2016 Thanks for everyone's input and advice I ended up going water less and used water bottles for the toilet, mainly because I forgot to charge the batteries and I found out the ignitor for my heater would not work on my elk hunt so I used the Buddy Heater. It was nice to pull the trailer dry with no water and nice to have that a shelter and 21 degree weather. Home now and tagged out on fay two , will add a story later.
