I have several pairs of Nikon Optics and think they are some of the best for the money. Take a look through some of there scopes next to a cabelas and you will see the differance. Plus the Nikon comes with a 25 years no fault warranty that is one of the best in the industry. David

Before you buy a scope make sure you take a close look at the Vortex Skyline ED 20-60x80mm . I know the outdoorsman has them in stock and if they don't they can get one in pretty quick. Vortex also offers a 20-60x60MM called the nomad

The Skyline Ed runs around 650 and the nomad runs around 320

Vortex also offers a lifetime uncondtionable warranty

Might look at the Nikon Fieldscope 50ED. Body weighs only 16oz. Two different zoom eyepieces are available. Sportsmans Warehouse might have them in stock to look at. I would look near dusk to see if the 50mm objective is a handicap for you.

Nikon Fieldscope is good glass in that price range. The 60MM model fits nicely in my pack, but the 80mm is too big.

Not a fan of the Nikon Sky and Earth, but some people like them.

Two great options in that price range are the Nikon 50ED with 13-30 zoom eyepiece or the Pentax PF65ED. Either would cost you less than $600.00 from us and both feature ED glass giving excellent resolution.

Please feel free to call us to discuss optics if you have a moment.
