Red Rabbit Report post Posted September 17, 2007 So what happened the day before the hunt to get the stars aligned for a 3 minute hunt? You're getting paid well by the minute on this particular deal Doug~RR

TLH Report post Posted September 17, 2007 Here is how he died so fast opening morning: I pre-scouted for two days to find this guy--he was in the same place both days all day long and he was getting very aggressive with the little bucks. I suggested to my hunter that we go in on the east end of the ranch and glass down instead of driving through the middle of the ranch and spooking everything out of the country. We went in about 30 minutes before sun up and sat in a saddle over looking the valley below. As we were driving in i saw two white spots on the left side of the truck and up the hill about 30 yards--it was a doe and a very young buck--i knew that the buck we called Gnarly was just over the hill from these two and if he heard these two ripping around that there might be some interesting things happening very soon! As it was it had just turned 6:19 am and it was shooting light and at the same time i said we can shoot legally here comes gnarly to whoop up on the little dude. He chased the little buck off and then came back--he mounted the doe, and did his natural thing and when he got down i told my hunter to take him! one shot at 75 yards and the day was done!! That fast!! Griz--i am not sure what unit it is but i can tell you it is just north of Carazzozo and is on the Spencer Ranch. Sometimes the big game Gods just smile on you
