azhuntnut Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Chase, You shot a great bull. When you have it scored, you might want to look into having it scored by and SCI scorer also. That way the bull gets full credit for all of its glory. Nets are for fishing, not scoring. David
davecinaz Report post Posted September 19, 2007 OK EVERYONE, My name is Chase Clonts and I am the hunter who killed this bull. I was told of the talk on here by my brother in law so I thought I would comment and settle some arguements. I don't know who has been posting everything on here and trying to get tons of people to score it but I will find out. Chris here in the phoenix area is the only one that I know of who has been called and asket to green score it. I was not the one who made that call, but the call was made on my behalf. I completely understand his reasons for wanting to wait the 60 days and that I fine with me. I am not shopping for scores it is what it is. I never thought he would beat the record, but I am just excited to maybe place in the top 20 or so. Man he is a beautiful bull and I am just thankful for what I got. I couldn't ask for anything better. It was an experience of a lifetime that I was able to share with some close friends and family. Here is the deal... In camp the rack was scored twice by two different people Jerry scored it at 403 5/8 gross with a net of 387 3/4. My dad Steve scored it at 409 1/8 gross with a net of 394 1/4. Now neither of these guys are pro scorers, however both have been doing this for more years then I have been alive. I believe the final score will be somewhere within that range. As far as the talk of a 378 bull fitting inside this rack. That is a bunch of BS. The rack has been in my posession since it was killed and no other rack has been set inside of it. Besides it only has a 38 1/4 spread. No...lol it was not shot in a pin behind safeway... and No I will not tell anyone where he came from. Its not my honey to spill.. If you guys have any other comment or questions for me I will check back a little later to respond Thanks to everyone for your congrats. I really apperciate it. Chase Chase, Just another congratulations on a great bull! Like somebody else said, no matter what he scores he's a trophy! And it lookds like he will score good. Way to go! dave
Chef Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Congrats to the hunter. That's a beautiful bull. Is this the bull taken by Cornville
chasec79 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Thanks again guys... Jade!! I figured out where you got your information from and I just wanted you to know that my permission was not given to post the pictures or comments that you posted. However it is not that big of a deal to me. Just try to get the facts right next time before you start running your mouth. Also please change the title of this topic. It is misleading. My bull is not a new record and it is wrong to advertise it as such. Thanks, Chase
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Chase, Welcome to the site and Congrats on a Terrific Bull!!! It is a "first page" bull according to my 2005 P&Y hard copy and that is plenty to be proud of!! Get it SCI scored now that can be done green. Congrats again! COUESAZ Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Dude i don't run my mouth and i was told by you know who to post the potos that you said we could. And i just posted the info he told me too. He said you guys were looking for some info on the last record shot and that you were looking for someone to score the bull. If you read my posts that is all i was asking for. Amanda has asked us not to post the potos of other peoples kills with out permision first that is why i asked the guy that called me and he said he was given permision. We both know who told me about it and we both know who runs there mouth. I hope Amanda will pull this post for you and my apology is here in public for all to see. This is an exceptional bull and I would never have done this had i not been told you said it was fine to do so. He said he was there on the hunt and you are a friend of his and all that BS. If you notice i had said none of the info was mine to give other than the photos and the green score. I will be making a call to him in the morning to chew his rear about making me look the fool in this case. Once again great bull. The title was ment to go with the first post of the thread were i asked for info on the AZ record that is in place at the time. If Amanda want to change the title she can. As for me i don't care if the whole dang post gets nuked. Once again i will be checking another name of my hunting budy list. Once my trust is busted in someone it is a done deal. chasec79 Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Hey man don't sweat it. I know you were given the ok to post the picks. I think its awesome to have so many people interested. I just wanted to post to get all of the facts straight so there wasn't a lot of built up hype around this bull. There is no need for Amanda to remove the posting. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted September 19, 2007 7mm, Thanks for posting the info on your hunt and the bull. And thanks for your understanding on how it got posted. Congratulations on a great bull!! And once again, please folks, please don't post photos that you don't have permission from the hunter to post. I know people don't mean any harm, but it can get out of hand quickly and if the hunter isn't as understanding as 7mm, it can get real ugly. Glad you had a great hunt Chase! COUESAZ Report post Posted September 19, 2007 Chase i spent almost four hours on sunday getting the info he asked me for about the latest record archry bull and tracking down some good guys to score the bull. I sent three emails i think with info on the last record bull through the article about the patterson bull and even sent info on grizz being someone to score the bull. I just thought what i was doing was to help you out by getting the info i thought you were looking to get. I do not sweat much but when my name is on the line i do get a little worked up. COUESAZ Report post Posted September 19, 2007 I bet you have not stoped the smiling. I was excited for you when i got the call. And when i saw the photo with the tag on it i was even more excited for you. I just like seeing big bulls. But more than anything i like seeing big Coues bucks. Sounds like this will be a good harvest year for both. Good luck on any hunts you still have and good luck ever topping this one you have just had.
