dmoto Report post Posted October 26, 2016 Similar situation happened up in Unit 8 last weekend. I was scouting Friday, Sat and Sunday up in 8. Ended up chatting with a game warden for about 15 min off of FR105. He gave me some pointers on areas where to start. At the end of the conversation, he told me to keep an eye out for a grey Nissan Frontier. Apparently, the two guys driving the Nissan shot a mule deer out of season. They had a WT tag and informed some other hunters about the deer thinking it was a WT. Yikes.... So, I scouted a bit more, then parked and ended up eating some lunch off of FR354. As soon as I finish lunch and was about to head out, here comes a grey Frontier. Ended up calling it in and a warden ended up nabbing them an hour later. No one should ever be shooting at anything they can't identify properly....

QCwtAddict Report post Posted October 26, 2016 How humiliating is this for the so called sponsors "legendary whitetails"? Legendary whitetails is just the next post on the persons facebook wall, they don't have any connection.
Zeke-BE Report post Posted October 26, 2016 I looked up on their facebook, legendary wt, and broadhead, and I can't find out when it happen. It looks like they took it down. From facebook (yes I admit im on FB) it looks like the guy is her husband and scrolling back a couple of years it seems like they are somewhat out doorsy people. Well at least off roading, it looks like it this hunting thing is still new to them.

Talked to them a little and found out it was a mule. So I just said take care, good luck, drove away and called G&F. Throughout the whole day, I got a couple calls from the warden to give me an update. Glad they got caught.

bigorange Report post Posted October 26, 2016 Kinda funny, I posted the same snapshot on the couesWhitetail page in fb and I'm the one getting flamed.Where'd ya post it. Ive gotta see thisIt's on the Coues Deer Hunting group. And yeah I'm on here and the Broadhead Brotherhood...maybe one of the few that still enjoys both groups. And to answer sundevil it's primarily a bowhunting group but a lot of everything on there depending on the season, especially when not many archery hunts open. A follow up post indicates that the hunter self-reported after the mistake was pointed out. Sucks, but at least did the right thing.
