rut Report post Posted September 13, 2007 Scouting elk in unit 10 last weekend with Cramerhunts, he was in the lead, stopped and just about jumped over the cedar tree just behind him. His next step was going to be right on this guy, he rattled, Phil looked down and there he was....only the second rattler I have come across in unit 10.... GRONG Report post Posted September 13, 2007 I just piss them off and walk away leaving them to bite the next guy. If you think I'm joking I'm not.......... Good luck on your hunt Jim!!
cramerhunts Report post Posted September 13, 2007 Jim is right about me jumping over the cedar tree....this thing scared the crap out of me. I have never even bothered to look for snakes when tromping the hills in unit 10 but you can bet that I keep an eye out now. All I can say is I am very thankful that he rattled when he did. fatfootdoc Report post Posted September 13, 2007 I catch them, cut off their rattles, poke them with sticks to get them good and mad, put them right next to where the illegals leave all their garbage and then leave and hope for the best ag
