Lance is at it again.............

Recommended Posts

Well, Lance had the opportunity to help his dad on an antelope/elk hunt that started on Friday. The elk tag is under the population management program.

He called me yesterday morning to let me know that his dad had killed a beautiful 6x6 that went 323". What a great bull for that hunt!!! For any hunt!

Then I get a phone call from him this morning telling me that his dad had filled his goat tag with a great buck.

There's much more to the story than what I've said but I'm going to let him entertain you. But let me just say this.

As often as we complain about the G&F doing the wrong thing, they certainly went above and beyond today and were on our side!

In the midst of all of the BS out of the WM's conrol, lets make sure to thank them for the little things (or in this case) the big things they do!

Way to go Lance! Can't wait to see the pics!!!!!!!

Lance, that had to be some great memory making there with your Dad. Congrat. to ya. Where's the pics?

Jim, isn't this a great time of year. I also had the opportunity to help a friend yesterday harvest his first lope as well and then helped another friend harvest his first archery turkey today. I'm in 7th Heaven! :D

I passed on 25 bucks yesterday alone. I tried for one that I think will go high 80s just before dark, but an errant doe busted me who was about 300 yds from him and I didn't get a shot. Haven't seen a bull worth shooting yet either! Another week to go!!

A land owner confiscated one of our goats! <_< And called the sheriff saying we were trespasing!  :(

 What ever!

Like we don't know where we are hunting. By gosh, we grew up in that country! My dad and brother were both cowboys in that country and have ridden a horse, driven a truck or walked over every square inch of that area! And I taged right along behind them! ;)

We caled the G&F and got ahold of the WM. He said he would promply go and get our goat for us! ;) And that the land owner was WAY beond his bounds and had done many illegal things with that land and that the Lawyers from the State Land Department would be paying him a visit! :P

Story and pictures comming latter after my wife gives me back the camera. She is deer hunting with "Tines" (her cousin) and she thinks she needs a camera ;) Hopefully she will!

This is my dads Antelope buck that earned the namd "Dinky" the year before. He was a little shorter than he was the year before but was still high wide and heavy! Note where the jail bait land owners cut his neck after looking up on the internet how to gut an animal. They are soooo busted!!!!!!

This is Don's antelope buck. He two was a little smaller than previous years, but has great curll mass and prongs!

We tried to kill this buck on the two previous years hunts. These were the two best bucks we knew of and the hunts were awesome!

Lance, Man my curiosity has got the best of me!! My son and I had that same hunt this year and last year. We didnt kill any elk, although we seen em a few times. I was holding out for a 350 bull or better, but it didnt pan out this year.

I might have thought twice about that bull that your Dad killed tho!!! I also thought I ran into all the unfriendly landowners in the area. Apparantly I didnt!! I also thought we looked over all the bucks too!! We had several picked out in case the big boy here didnt cooperate, and I never saw them 2 that you posted pics of. Heres a pic of the buck I killed this year, It scores right at 83 and 4/8. What did them 2 that you got pics of score? they are really nice!! I have emailed Tines(Jake) several times in the past few months, Could you please PM me?

Ron
