Anti-rain dance lessons or how to hunt in wet "desert" advice

Recommended Posts

Ok.

I know we live in the desert and should love the rain and all, but I could sure use a little drying out before next weeks Jr. rifle hunt. My 12 year old has unit 34A and it's getting pounded.

Any advice on how to hunt deer when the unit is this wet ? ( besides having rain gear lol)

Easier to see tracks in the mud. They'll still hit reliable water sources even with lots of puddles every but if pressure is heavy they'll drink a mud puddle. Their home range shouldn't change much, if you found them before the rain then chances are they'll still be close.

It can be annoying but in my experience if you can locate them it's easier to to stalk them because rain masks some sent and also make it quieter for walking.

You'll be fine. The desert dries fast. It still gets hot during the first few weeks of October. They're calling for mid to upper 90's to return by next weekend.

Whew. Glad to hear that they are pretty much the same.

I'll cancel the achy breakup heart line dance lessons.
