I will second that. A buddy used one last year after calling AZGFD to verify.

Just curious what other handguns/calibers people typically use on this hunt? Want to put in for it this year.

Twice I have used a TC/223 and twice a 357 revolver but I have heard of people using 9mm and 44 Magnum.

HAM question answer NO THEY DONT TASTE LIKE HAM. :)

I wanna shoot 1 with Grandpas Ruger super Blackhawk 30 carbine I carried on a down south hunt with SHERMAN but he failed to deliver L.O.L. well we did start shooting at jackwabbits but no pigs

For pistols i have used Beretta 9mm, glock 30 45acp, ruger super blackhawk 44mag. Long barrel helps spot and stalk but since I'm normally calling in super close any handgun big enough works. Good luck and have fun

XDM 3.8 compact in 9mm works great too.

Is an AR pistol considered a handgun as far as the HAM hunt is concerned?

Yes, AR15 pistols are legal. Some on here will question the legality. I posted a successful javelina hunt picture on here, used a Rock River Arms AR15 pistol. Crazy how someone that ignorant would accuse me of hunting with a illegal firearm. 😕

My javelina from 2/6/2010

I've used 4 different handguns, Ruger Redhawk .44 mag revolver, Desert Eagle .44 mag, LAR Grizzly .45 Win mag 1911 and Rock River Arms AR15 .223 pistol. Friends have used 9mm, .38, .357, .44mag, it's all about shot placement.
