Couestracker Report post Posted September 22, 2016 Late on the 11th day of a 12 1/2 day hunt, after lots of fun encounters and many miles of hiking, 260 miles on the Ranger, I called in this bull to 40 yards. This is my first archery elk, prior archery hunting success has been only javelina. Huge thank you to friends and family who helped in one way or another. Especially my youngest brother Steven and our friend Andy, for taking me out on a guided style hunt. Man, did we get into some elk! They also dropped what they were doing (Andy missed dinner!) to drive out from Flagstaff when I called them to help with field recovery and skin him out. I'm a lucky and grateful man to have such great family and friends. This hunt was nothing short of epic! He went 40 yards and hooked his antlers on this tree. Who says you can't get a bull elk in a Ranger? Happy hunter!
