Flatlander Report post Posted September 22, 2016 American Falls?! My grandparents lived there and I spent part of every summer there growing up. Sizable elk populations are far away. Look at the mountains around Blackfoot or the Diamond Creek zone.
Dcc22hunter Report post Posted September 23, 2016 awesome thanks for the input. ill start doing some research i think the best way is to just go out and explore!
studs1991 Report post Posted September 28, 2016 If you are looking for extensive public lands, I would recommend researching units up north! There are some big national forests up there. Some units west of Boise might also be a good place to look.

Javelinasports Report post Posted February 14, 2017 I was on a project last spring/summer actually scouted quite a bit, I thought I was going to be able to hunt but eventually was relocated back to AZ. I was scouting west of Boise and near Cascade.....lots of Elk.
