ghost hunter Report post Posted September 14, 2016 Aside from the obvious couple of answers, what, if any, can a person due for a gun with some rust. Not that it makes a difference how it happened, but I had a water line break and some of my guns got wet.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted September 14, 2016 0000 steel wool or a product at harbor freight called evapo rust. That stuff works good on anything

Benbrown Report post Posted September 14, 2016 If it's just surface rust, spray with a gun oil (like RemOil or Honady One-SHot) and polish with 0000 steel wool. This will remove the rust, but not the blueing that is left.

ghost hunter Report post Posted September 15, 2016 Thanks for the info and ideas. I just used some of that evapo rust on a chain, and although it took longer than advertised, it did work. I was just wondering about the blueing. I was also a little leary about using steel wool vs the blueing.
