dsotm Report post Posted September 13, 2016 Picked up a cheap 870 this weekend for the girlfriend to shoot. Works fine but the finish is pretty rough, wondering if anyone can reblue it affordably or if I should just rattle can it?
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted September 13, 2016 I've been told if it's pitted then most won't mess with it, also they like to get a few guns together to make it worth mixing up a batch of bluing salts. I'd be curious the answer as well. I cerakoted the last gun I wanted blued but I much prefer a bluing job.
metau Report post Posted September 13, 2016 Get in touch with the gunsmithing course up at Yavapai CC. I know blueing is part of their course and I'm sure you could find a student willing to learn on your new find for a minimal fee.
dse Report post Posted September 13, 2016 There's a guy in cordes junction that does blueing. He does good work and is pretty affordable.

Hunterjohnny Report post Posted September 13, 2016 Look at parkerizing also. I did two rifles and really liked it. I mean I did them myself it wasn't hard. Not expensive guns but it was fun doing it.
