Post Kill Traditions

Recommended Posts

So I didn't grow up in a hunting family and as I see my young Family start to grow I was wondering what everyone else did after they killed.

I always say a prayer thanking Heavenly Father for taking the life of a animal. Sometimes vocal, sometimes quite. I have also been taught how to butcher and process my elk and deer. My wife and kids help in processing the meat. ( cool wife lets me use the kitchen )

What does everyone else do?

Gut it and haul a$$ back to camp and crack open a few to many cold ones.

We thank the animal and then eat the tenderloin back at camp. Sometimes I get sad that the hunt is over!

Don't really have one, seems almost all of my kills except a very few and been solo so it's just been a chore to pack them up and get back to camp. Take a picture or two usually followed by some beers back at camp.

Freshly cooked back strap with sautéed onions in a tortilla at camp after kill. Nothing better.

Give thanks to the Lord. Pack him back to camp. Cook the liver with onions and bacon. Enjoy beer and Crown by the dying fire.

Can we hunt together? That sounds amazing. Love me some thanks, liver and crown!
