Post Kill Traditions

Recommended Posts

Since my kills are usually seperated by a decade or more Im not sure you can call it a tradition, but I usually say thanks, take some time to admire the animal and get a couple pictures then get to work.

First excitement sets in!!! Adrenaline starts to slow down and then the admiring the animal. High fives and then pack it out. I only say thanks for the animal when im blessing the food before dinner. :)

Most elk hunts we go to Bun Huggers in Flagstaff to celebrate the success of the hunt.

Give thanks to the Lord. Pack him back to camp. Cook the liver with onions and bacon. Enjoy beer and Crown by the dying fire.

Can we hunt together? That sounds amazing. Love me some thanks, liver and crown!

Any time Casey!

" Thank you Mr. Deer, your spirit will feed my soul, your flesh will feed the people"...

Supposedly an old NA prayer, my Dad taught me this and I'll say it after each kill...

Back straps and liver and onions for dinner. Obviously, story time for all that were not involved and a few too many cocktails.
