Hoss50 Report post Posted September 7, 2016 Yep. I do it all the time alot of semi auto rifles flat spot cases like that. Like lance said, even size new brass. I made that mistake one time and the brand new cases would not hold bullets. They had no neck tension because they were slightly to large.

CatfishKev Report post Posted November 26, 2016 What causs the flat spot to begin with? Got my son a savage axis that's doing that to every one of them. I got better groups with my old savage 110 with a crappy trigger. Is it affecting my accuracy, and can I do anything to prevent it?
WampusCat Report post Posted November 26, 2016 Normally its and over zealous ejector spring pressing the case too hard against the inside of the receiver during the extraction process. Easily fixed by snipping a coil or two off the spring. Sometime when cases hit the ground they will dent the neck too. No worries if you have an expander ball in your die when reloading.
