PRDATR Report post Posted August 24, 2016 It's an older Winchester Model 12, probably 1920's. The action feels like it is sluggish, maybe gummed up. I'd like to have it to have as a backup for new shooters this dove season. I had an old manual that showed how to take it apart and actually did my father-in-laws dads gun about 20 years ago and I seem to remember a wishbone spring in there somewhere. dmoto Report post Posted August 24, 2016 Have you checked YouTube? It really helped me when I inherited my father's Browning B2000 Autoloader. Also helped me with many other projects (dishwashers, icemakers, auto repair on FJ Cruiser). As far as cleaning, I'm a fan of CLP. (5 minutes in)
Couzer Report post Posted August 24, 2016 Dmoto beat me to the punch, definitely Utube if it has something. I would recommend picking up a gunsmith screwdriver set so the head on the screwheads don't get beat up.
