Ohthatguy Report post Posted August 23, 2016 I was up in Denver doing some work on my Mom's house and a salesman in Home Depot asked about kitchen remodels. I was considering doing that so I had them come out and give me a bid. Bottom line is nothing fancy, no crazy designs and the price came in at 151.00/ft installed. I was shocked and disappointed. I also lost all confidence in their services offered and will never waste my time again. I know the "35.00/ft installed price" sign at the entry of every HD was a joke but really? I was curious about what others have paid for an "out the door" price for a good granite counter top. I thought 75.00/ft was the norm. They also quoted me 10K to reface 16 cabinets. I asked him why I would do that when I can have new decent cabinets installed for less. His response was that it would be faster than waiting 6 weeks for new cabinets to be built. So if you are in the market, I would not even waste my time with them.
CatfishKev Report post Posted August 23, 2016 Getting a bid for HD Or lowes is a joke. HD will will charge $1000 per window installed for a $200 window then pay the sub piecework of $80 per window to install it. We've seen a roof job we did for about $9k priced from lowes for about $17k. I feel bad for people that screwed over like that, there's just no excuse to straight up rip people off.
