Backpacking Holster Question

Recommended Posts

I carry a Sig 10mm and finding the best place to carry it has always been an issue. I got a leather otw belt holster and ran the strap on the hip belt of my icon pro 3200 through the loops. Worked really well but like said above if i dropped my pack, no more pistol. One thing I wear and never take off is my Alaska guide creations Bino Harness. I decided to try and run the strap that goes around your ribs through the holster loops. At first i thought it would be uncomfortable but I actually like it and forgets its there sometimes.

I run a Saferiland with ALS for my 10mm g20. Run it on the gcode mule thigh holster platform that the Safariland.a locks into. With the locking system prevents it getting snagged when busting brush.

Blackhawk Serpa Tactical Holster. Whether you are righty or lefty, does not matter. It is the most adequate holster for when you have a backpack.

I use a paddle holster and clip it right to my hip belt on the pack (outdoorsman) not sure if it would work with other pack designs

Pic please!

Vowell, here ya go. I only carry a handgun when I don't have a rifle in my hands. To much weight in my pack already when I don't really need it. I know there are a lot of guy's on here that feel naked without a handgun but if one round from my rifle won't do the job I'm probably dead anyway :)

I took buckle off belt my cutting the stitching where end is folded over and slipped nice leather holster over belt then put buckle back on. It allows me to use lumbar support and suck everything up right and then slip gun in and all is a

Good until you take pack off of course so I run 2 holsters Galco quickslide with yaqui under. Works for me with my packs but mine have some strap in front of lumbar/waist belt pad thingy mcjigger ;)
