sherman Report post Posted August 28, 2016 I didn't used to pickup my hulls but wasn't taught to and didn't know the error in my ways. I have learned the error of my ways and now always take out more than I shoot. This is me as well I was never taught to but I believe we all need to around where I live it it the wildcat ranges more then dove hunters

Hoss50 Report post Posted September 1, 2016 I shot to many times but I got a limit. I didn't realize for awhile I was shooting my full choke tube though. Once the mod choke came back I did better.

Allforelk Report post Posted September 2, 2016 I'm jealous of everyone that went out. Family did amazingly well including the young ones. My shoulder wouldn't let me shoot my .30-06 on Sunday let alone my AYA today. First dove opener missed since I was shooting a half limit on my dad's license. I always keep my full choke on. I haven't shot Mod for over a decade. Dove and clay pigeons (full choke) gets you ready for the fast long range shots for quail. Hoss50 Report post Posted September 2, 2016 I need to practice more to be effective with the full choke. I used to do fine with it when I shot alot of shotgun sports. Not so much anymore. I used to get teased at the skeet and sporting clays range because I always called for the bird with my gun down. I always told them, how often is your gun on your cheek ready to go when the dove fly in....
nw07heavy Report post Posted September 2, 2016 I'll pick up as many empty cases as possible (within reason) when I run across them in the field, especially Winchester AA low base, because I reload and it is always good to keep spares to replace those that wear. Those that are not 'keepers' are sorted through and chucked at home. Free brass wherever you find it is good to pick up since there are often shortages in the stores.
