lancetkenyon Report post Posted August 9, 2016 You might be able to wheel and deal on this too. It's already at a pretty good price though. Plus it's close to you. You could go take a peak at it to see if you like it. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/for/5721144740.html Something wrong with that add..... Box says "MOA", turrets are MRAD...

olmos1010 Report post Posted August 11, 2016 Thanks for all the feedback. I'm takin a hard look at the Zeiss hd5 and Nightforce shv.
wildwoody Report post Posted August 11, 2016 Zeiss hd5 25power just put one on my 300ultra. Cabela's has them on sale for $779.00 down from $1299.00
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted August 11, 2016 One thing that might be noteworthy is the HD 5 has exposed lockable turrets where as far as I know the shv turrets are not exposed. That might not be that big of a deal but a preference of mine is exposed lockable turrets.
cjl2010 Report post Posted August 11, 2016 Out of curiosity, why the need for lockable turrets?
lancetkenyon Report post Posted August 11, 2016 So they don't spin in and out of a pack or shoulder, etc. Even though it has never happened to me.
cjl2010 Report post Posted August 11, 2016 I guess I rely on my zero stop to make sure I know where I'm at. Locking would be cool too. I guess windage would be a good one to have lockable if you had an exposed turret
olmos1010 Report post Posted August 16, 2016 So I'm about to pull the trigger on the Nightforce shv F1 4-14x50 with the MOAR but before I do I would love to hear from anyone who has used this reticle/scope. Also would like to know what base and rings to get for the setup. I want quality over anything. Don't want to be dealing with any problems later. Scope will be on a Tikka TX3 lite in 7mm-08.Thanks in advance.

Some will claim others are superior however when it come to durability and most importantly TRACKING of turrets a Nightforce is really hard to beat!! Only other Scope I would choose over a Nightforce is Schmidt and Bender........ However the cost does not outweigh the advantage. Get it you won't regret it I promise!!!

Tangent Theta? Premier? Vortex Razor Gen II or AMG? Steiner M5Xi? US Optics? Leupold Mark 8? Just asking. Are these more $$ than the NXS? Yes. But performance-wise, all top tier optics. But similarly priced for most to the ATACR F1 or Beast.
