full length dies or just neck resize?

If you get the Whidden FL bushing die you can bump the shoulder back .002 and it will be very minimal sizing on the body. I use to neck size only BUT trust me when i say FL bumping is even more reliable.

When full length dies are set up correctly for a proper amount of shoulder bump (minimal) I believe you will be hard pressed to glean any benefit from neck size only. Especially when considering the added reliability of full length sized cases in hunting or competition environments.

 

Some may feel they have more precision control over the process when they are done in two separate steps (body die then the neck die) but few are the man/rifle combos who can shoot tight enough to tell the difference on a target at distance.

I FL everything that I hunt with and set my dies up for minimal shoulder working. If you've ever tried to kill something and couldn't chamber because of the shoulder not being slightly bumped back......
