ultramag Report post Posted August 27, 2007 #1 please don't camp 50 yards from a camp thats already there. #2 please don't let your kids ride their little quads all over the place and stir dust all day. #3 please don't play music all day, I go camping to get away from all that noise. #4 please keep your dam dog out of my camp #5 please pick up all of your trash. Don't leave it in the fire ring. #6 always put your campfire out, throw dirt all over it and pour water on it. #7 leave no trace that you were even there. #8 turn off that focking generator It don't need to run 24/7 while you are there. #9 If you own a loud quad leave that piece of sh!t at home. #10 Have respect for other people that may be around you. Your not the only one camping. #11 don't shoot your guns all day go to the range.
azcouesandelk Report post Posted August 27, 2007 Sounds like a rough weekend. I really hate it when someone comes and camps right next to you. There is plenty of other camp spots in the woods. There is no need for the generator going 24/7. I can understand a few hours to charge the battery but that is about it. As for the quads I am not a fan of quads. And the campfire not being out is the last straw. I have put out alot of fires that other campers have not put out and it pisses me off every time because they think that it will not start a forest fire! Sorry to hear about your weekend and hopefully you will have a better one the next time you go up!

rugerman Report post Posted August 28, 2007 I've had people actually try to squeeze in my campsite before...... Also when bear season opened up in 6B somebody was emptying magazines thru a semi auto pistol at 3am. My quad is as quiet as its getting though, not much louder than my deisel

JasCald02 Report post Posted August 28, 2007 I guess that you could always retreat to the wilderness.....but you shouldn't have too! On a realted note, have any of you ever had someone come into your camp? During the day or night?

devinv Report post Posted August 29, 2007 was in 27 a couple years ago on a cow elk hunt, we came in the day before the hunt and set up camp, down the road a ways and through some thick woods there was a large open meadow, well we got to watch and hear about 8 different bulls bugle all night, well almost all night, until somebody who was deer hunting pulled into the meadow about 2 am and set up camp, un-fricken-believable. the next morning granted the elk that were there the night before had left the area and didnt return the whole hunt. Guest 300ultramag. Report post Posted August 29, 2007 I have a funny story! So My wife and I were sleeping in a tent by the lake.Around 3 am a quad comes up to the tent and fishtails, spraying debris and rocks.I came running out w/ my .45<hidden>.I picked up a good size boulder and gave it my all.Well it hit the quad not him.I watched him retreat to his buddies.I acted like i went back in the tent and stooped behind it and waited....rock in hand.Sure as sh!t the same quad comes back!As im ready to pounce the guy turns it off and approaches the tent, MY HEART WAS POUNDING!He started to apologize for his friend.I warned him that I was in fact armed w/ a rock.(a gentlemen never reveals his gun.)OK so long story short 45 min. later i am woken by screaming and yelling i look out and this jackass is running w/ a 5 gallon tank of gasoline on FIRE! He does a 360 trying to get momentum to chuck it into the lake.Well he was drunk and missed his target and hit his 2000+ lifted chevy truck. It completely ingulfs in flames....... he jumps into the truck and drives it into the lake. 2 put it out.Im talking up to the windows nearly.Well we left around 130 pm the next day and they had yet to free it.Dang I had a winch 2.LMAO
ultramag Report post Posted August 29, 2007 all I can say is that about 5 or so years ago it wasnt that bad. It just seems like people just have more money now or something because it seems like they can afford 30ft+ travel trailers the trucks you need to tow them. and go every weekend. I dont know. All I can say is the new forest service plan to limit dispersed camping is around the corner because of this, I hate like heck to see it but I think it will happen. I is just like hunting permits there is just to many damm people in this state.
