My Rights As An American Report post Posted July 31, 2016 unless your poor and can't make a living ,none of it is worth it.....................BOB!OR if you use it and have the cans and bottles sitting around you can recycle them and help out and make a little money and help teach your kids to work? Yah I do not go searching it out. It is the stuff we use at home and the stuff from the kids' grandparents. We use it to teach life lessons, not how to recycle because you are too poor to do anything else. Great way for the kids to build a small account and teach savings. I personally do not make enough to pay someone else to teach them these lessons nor do I want rely on someone else to teach them these lessons.
Hoss50 Report post Posted July 31, 2016 At my old house the neighbors next door.did recycling for a living. They collected everything and sorted it into big piles in the backyard. Every few months they would rent the biggest u haul truck and take all the cans and bottles to California and collect all CRV returns on them. They didn't get rich, but I think they did ok. My Rights As An American Report post Posted July 31, 2016 Just called and prices today are $.75 for cans and $.25 for plastic. Yikes. Prices have dropped hard!
My Rights As An American Report post Posted July 31, 2016 Ok just got back. Prices for cans were less than quoted. 34 pounds of cans and 73 pounds of plastic. Kids got a small bump in their savings today. Used to get at least twice for the same amount of cans and plastic but kids got something. Thanks. Will try to figure out best place for prices and location.
Red Sparky Report post Posted July 31, 2016 Excellent info! Thanks. Wow 500 pounds of copper. Aren't you afraid they will strip search you through TSA when you turn it all in at once? Nope. Most of mine is #12 up to 600, small pieces from trimming out or old stuff pulling new. They take a copy of my DL anyhow. Anybody not legit takes it other places that don't have to show DL.
