I have thumped few elk, deer and turkeys with it. If you have crossbow permit for disability from game and fish you can use during archery hunts if not it must only be used on small game, coyotes etc and can be used during rifle hunts for big game (elk, deer, antelope etc etc) or just for fun, which it is VERY FUN.
