Kevin Report post Posted August 23, 2007 I've had one of my cameras set up on an area where I found a year old non-typical shed turkey hunting this spring. Low and behold, I believe I got a picture of the buck that lost it. Maybe some of you antler experts can confirm. Bad news is that I drew a unit 100 miles from this one! Obviously, I have the left side and am convinced it is off of this buck. To bad I can't tell how wide he is or have other pics to try to judge him from, never the less, I'd put a tag on him in a heart beat. The double drop tine buck is a dream come true, even if all I ever see of him is this picture. Kevin
SilentButDeadly Report post Posted August 23, 2007 where is his tail?
Kevin Report post Posted August 23, 2007 Look at his head Neo, look at his head! I hadn't even noticed the tail, or lack there of! I blew the original picture up and you're right, his tail is very short. Prolly drug it off cause he was tired from carrying all that bone around. Coach Report post Posted August 23, 2007 I think I can verify it, but first I need to come out to where the live picture was taken.
SilentButDeadly Report post Posted August 23, 2007 My father-in-law used to chase a non typical muley with no tail, named him Notail... Looks like his spirit has been reborn. Maybe someone should go out and start lopping the tails off male fawns to see if the injury causes those non-typical antlers....
Guest AZ>NMcouesaddict Report post Posted August 23, 2007 Without getting to specific, would that buck happen to live in unit 23. I was out chasing bears this weekend and seen a buck with similar features. Many points on the right, a big point sticking off of the left horn. I didn't get a good enough look to see specifics, he didn't stick around to long. That is a cool NT.

Kevin Report post Posted August 24, 2007 Keep your eyes open for him Tommy, you frequent this area Just don't put one of your clients on him Kevin
More D Report post Posted August 24, 2007 Looks to me like there might be two different bucks. His sticker on the left side is forked and the shed looks like a point. I might be wrong but if I am not that means you have TWO different monsters to hunt.
