SpotNStalk Report post Posted July 15, 2016 Fan motor went out in my upstairs unit . Tried turning the fan and it didn't turn as freely as it should . Went ahead and turned the unit on and tried to spin the fan to make sure it wasn't the fan capacitor and the fan didn't spin. Thank you!

TOBY Report post Posted July 15, 2016 You already figured it out. Take the bad motor to ARS. 91st ave off grand a ways. Install the new one and new capacitor and done.
Hoss50 Report post Posted July 15, 2016 ARS isn't off grand anymore. They moved down 91st toward Olive. What brand is your furnace/fan coil?
TOBY Report post Posted July 15, 2016 Correct. City electric is in the same place.
AverageJoe Report post Posted July 15, 2016 Very easy to replace yourself. Please dont waste money using any ac company. They are the biggest ripoff every single one of them.

That is a bold blanket statement. I know plenty of honest HVAC contractors and workers.
Hoss50 Report post Posted July 15, 2016 I fall in the middle of that statement somewhere. There are a lot more bad A/C contractors than good ones unfortunately.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 15, 2016 Well, the dishonest ones or lousy workmanship companies don't stick around doing our work. For every 1 good contractor we use, we have gone through 10. But tje good ones we find, we stay pretty loyal to them. I am in no way saying that they are all good. But saying they are all bad is not the case. Just like any other profession out there except maybe career politicians.
