CouesWhitetail Report post Posted August 22, 2007 YOUTH & FIRST TIME ARCHERY HUNTER CAMP UNIT 1 – BIG LAKE RECREATION AREA APACHE-STIGREAVES NATIONAL FOREST August 24th & 25th Friday August 24th 9:00 – 11:00 AM – Staff and volunteers arrive and set up 11:00 AM – 3D target range operational Archery instructors available for technical advice Assistance for tracking, packing out game, and field dressing available from the camp Snacks, chips & dip/salsa, sodas and water available 7:00 PM – Dinner, hamburgers & hot dogs 8:00 PM – Mexican Wolf Program presentation – Shawna Nelson Saturday August 25th 8:00 AM – 3D target shoot open Snacks available throughout the day Technical assistance, tracking, packing, and field dressing assistance available throughout the day 6:00 PM – Close camp and clean up Sponsored by White Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Arizona Deer Association, Arizona Bow Hunters Association, and the Arizona Game and Fish Department Directions: Take highway 261 (highway 273 detour) from Eagar to Big Lake, continue south on Forest Service Road (FSR) 249 to the intersection of FSR 249 & 249E; turn west (right) on FSR 249E and proceed westward to the intersection of FSR 249E and FSR 68; turn south (left) on FSR 68 and proceed to camp approximately 1/3 mile south of that turn.
