Curtis Reed Report post Posted July 11, 2016 Im looking at knocking out a section of wall and putting in an 8' RV gate. Does anyone know the ballpark cost of having a contractor do this job? Thanks
Edge Report post Posted July 11, 2016 I built RV gates for decades. You're going to want it a little wider if possible. Price will depend on style and single/double, swinging vs rolling.
Ed67 Report post Posted July 11, 2016 Yes go larger than 8'. There's a place around i17 and deer valley that sells gates with wood slats for reasonable prices and you install. I found them on Craigslist a few years ago after some drunk speeder plowed through my wall. I figured perfect time for an RV gate.
Edge Report post Posted July 11, 2016 I have a wrought iron with cedar slats RV gate for sale. Installing is no problamo, so long as you're not in Yuma or something.
AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted July 11, 2016 I had a 10' gate built and installed for $700.

AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted July 11, 2016 Just FYI you can't fit a utility trailer or toy hauler through an 8' gate.
5guyshunting Report post Posted July 11, 2016 12' opening is even better, you will lose a few inches on each side when you install the gate.

GF is the worst, thought I would not notice the bent posts or broken truck mirror.
Richie Report post Posted July 12, 2016 If your talking having a contractor do it, the price can vary based on your circumstances. A 10' rv gate installed for 700 is cheap as your going get. It could easy cost upto 1500 and still be a fair price. I'm not saying that it won't function for 700 but you get what you pay for as far as material, finish and the way the contractor decides to install it. Then on top of that you would have to add for cutting the block wall. Good luck
