No new bow this time!

Recommended Posts

some of you guys switch out bows quicker than i switch out my underwear

Those guys are the worst! They're like the guys who have to get the new iPhone every time regardless of the lack of new features and condition of their current one.

...And they all drool at the mention of Cam Hanes like trphy does at Hi Liter

What is wrong with getting a new bow often? Seems plenty of guys have more than one rifle. I would have loved to get a new bow this year, just had other priorities that pulled rank.

Nothing.. If you got the money go for it. Some guys are cheap and some guys are big spenders.

With me, it's not about cost, it's about having faith in what I shoot...

My current Black Widow recurve was $1100, bought in 2008... I shoot it fine and I'm very comfortable with it...

Had a Bear Kodiak magnum recurve, 1978 model, I bought for $50bucks at a yard sale that i used for many years before the BW and it accounted for a pile of Deer...

I'm not going to change-up a Tool I'm happy with for something I'll need to re-setup/learn...

archerytalk.com classified are the best way to get last years models at 50% off . That's where a lot of the new bow every year guys unload the "obsolete junk".

I figure if Fred Bear was killing moose and grizzly with his Bear recurve, my 2010 Bear compound will take down a deer.

I agree.... frugel rules! I'm getting so bad, I won't buy anything unless I know it's a smoking deal.

Ive been eyeballing new bows for a couple years now, but after having a bad experience with the last one I bought and losing that 40-50% trying to sell it a couple months later I just cant bring myself to do it again. My 08 black ice has several deer under its belt already, and I think its got plenty more in it.

Now whenever I find myself with the extra $1-2k it would take to buy one, I dump the cash in my kids' college fund and stick with my old school gear.
