KingJeff187 Report post Posted July 1, 2016 so i ordered i new scope for my rifle last week frome Midway USA. was supposed to be here today, so i go to check the tracking on it and i find that my scope died and burned in the train derailment in Texas and now i have to wait another week and a half for them to send me a new one. So much for sighting it in this weekend.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted July 1, 2016 Sorry partner, I'd be/am more concerned about the people that are injured/missing more then worried about the scope. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/texas-train-crash-three-feared-8305306

But I order stuff online like once every 2-3 years, Just my luck the one time it ends up on a train that ends up burning.
Couzer Report post Posted July 2, 2016 Total bummer for sure, we work hard to ensure freight is delivered on time. Working long hours, holidays, away from the family weeks, months at time. Impact was estimated to be over 100 mph. Prayers to the families to the 2 conductors and 2 engineers.
Flatlander Report post Posted July 2, 2016 The RR industry is rough and unforgiving and the stakes are high. I used to be responsible for track inspections every night and it literally got to the point that I would wake up in a cold sweat several times per week. An event like this was literally my worst nightmare. God bless those families.
