I dont believe anyone ever will be able to'fix' this country, because frankly I dont think its broken. Our government is still operating just fine, as it was intended.

The problem is that the american psyche is broken. Entitlement, laziness, and a complete lack of personal responsibility are the most common traits now, and our elected representatives do represent that, dont they? America doesnt need fixing, Americans do.

This country is still the best deal going if a person wants to have the opportunity to work their butt off and get ahead. Im doing it. So are many of you that work two jobs, or start your own business, or invest in your education to further yourself. Just keep at it, hope and pray for better days, vote for what you think is best, and be prepared to ride out the dips.

Warren buffet said, "I like to invest in companies that are so good even an idiot can run them, because sooner or later, one will."

Thats the united states. We just survived 8 years of idiocy, and the odds are good we have another 4 ahead.

In advance - all respect and no offense intended.

Do you still get to work with Americans? You're lucky. And I'm shocked because most of the Americans I know are extremely hard workers and don't have that sense of entitlement. Quite the opposite. Its others that seem to feel entitled and have no American values.

Sorry - I'm not voting for idiocy for the next 4. I hope you are not either.

After about 6 years as the GM of a 40+ person aerospace shop, I stepped down from my position last year and went to a smaller company where I'm now employed as an engineer/cnc programmer. A big part of my decision to leave was due to burn out on years of dealing with people. We had some good guys that were dependable as could be, but there were plenty of others that were not. Without getting into too much gritty detail, let's just say my observation is the split is probably about 50/50 between people that actually give a poop and want to do a good job and the people that don't care and do the bare minimum to just not get fired, and then are shocked when they don't get a raise at the year end review. And this 50/50 is among the people that are actually working. Add on the unemployed and life long welfare recipients and the 'don't give a crap, just give me money' number goes waaaaaaaaaaay up.

But that's just my observation, having been in charge of a relatively small business.

The silver lining as I see it though is this: in the 12 years since I moved to Phoenix, my income level has gone up almost 800%. I attribute that almost entirely to the fact that there's not much competition. I don't have to be smarter or work harder than every other person, I just have to work harder than about 20%, because that's all the more that actually show up on time every day anyhow.

I will certainly be voting for Trump this fall. He's far from a perfect candidate, but he is certainly the one that I think will do the most for those of us that sweat and want to get ahead.

How great would that be to see slick willy jump up and start dancing around when jerry springer opens the envelope and says, "the results are back.... and they say.... she is NOT your child!"

I can relate. Had a business myself, and probably ,"hired and fired", a 100 worthless idiots. I felt like a glorified babysitter.

America has problems at many levels. The Liberal universities that manufacture the entitled is where the nations leadership comes from.

We love to point the finger at the libs / dems but when are we going to start pointing the finger at the GOP ? When are they going to get their act together and bring us a good candidate? This election alone shows us how broken they are. They need to start molding someone with the values we care about but someone who can still go out and capture some of the minority and young voters.

The thing is, If the liberals can put a candidate like Hillary forward with everything against her and have the public and the media support her and not call her out on anything. I don't think it matters who we put forward, hard to compete against that.

How may of you guys have 16-22 years old kids, what's that's like? I mean they haven't seen anything but Obama in their life, do they even think things can be good?

A Land of Too many laws... Laws that have the primary purpose to grow and expand the niches for lawyers and corporate elite .. Too many lawyers (mostly liberal democrats) forming (not in service of) a government to control the people. Not a government indentured to the people, as it should be. Not a government to represent and speak for the people, as it should be.. A government lobbied by to many corporate dollars to make a free people, unknowingly, indentured servants... each person becoming a monetized commodity.. New generations Distracted by social programs that take away personal responsibility and consequences, blur the value of hard work and success, while tainting the difference between winning and losing. A government and media that forms a culture of social indifference and division as a means of distracting the populous from the reality of what their freedoms have become.

IMO everything is not peachy and great and we are not a better nation than we were 50 years ago and we will never be until we see massive change.

Slavery never went away.... only the masters have changed and minorities are no longer alone in the chains.
