7mm 175gr ELD-X & H1000

Recommended Posts

Cabelas has a few boxes and pounds in stock.

I picked up a box of the ELD-X and I have H1000 so I have another load to work on for my elk hunt.

I can't decide if I want to run the ELD-X, HYBRID, OR SCENAR from my 28 nosler. Haven't read much about on game performance with the eld, my only hesitation.

I am going to work a load with the 168gr HVLD, and a load with these in my 7mm Rem mag. We will see what they do. My cow elk went down from 115gr HVLD in my 257 weatherby so I hope both the above loads would be sufficient this year.

If I don't get a good load before season or I don't feel totally good about the 7mm I have the weatherby waiting in the wings.

The 28 nosler screams 195 bergers, assuming you have a 1-8" barrel.

I do, and when I hunt elk with it I'll load that bullet. Until then, ill go 175 or 180.

I've read that the EDL x are the new game round. And the new EDL is the same bullet Amax but with the heat resistant tip and should be the same as the Amax. Everyone loves The a max. But in the same write up it talked that the EDL x jacket might be to thin and blew up on contact like a ballistic tip. This is what I remember I can be totally wrong. So if the new EDL are the same Amax with the new tip that's good enough for me.
